High pressure around 30.2 inches over the region will slowly move to the east into Friday night. Low pressure around 29.8 inches should then move into the Upper Mississippi River Valley Saturday. Northeast winds will become east and weaken overnight over southern portions of the lake, with light and variable winds to the north. Light and variable winds will linger on Friday. Light to modest southerly winds will then develop Saturday morning, ahead of the approaching low pressure system. Winds will turn to the north by Saturday evening, as the low moves east of the region. Light to modest northeast winds will then prevail into Sunday, while another high pressure area around 30.1 inches sets up over Lake Superior.
