Montana Weather Summary
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
355 PM MDT Fri Sep 9 2022

Today... Scattered showers and thunderstorms over Southeast Montana
diminished early this morning. However, a more widespread area of
lower clouds with rain and high-mountain snow moved south into North
Central and Central Montana throughout the morning hours. Daytime
heating then created more scattered shower and thunderstorm activity
over much of the Treasure State during the afternoon. Behind
yesterday's cold frontal passage, northerly winds prevailed across
the region, gusting up to 30 mph in some locations.

At 3 pm... Temperatures had mostly warmed into the 50s to mid 60s,
ranging from 48 degrees F at both Augusta and Butte to 69 degrees F
at Missoula.

Overnight... Any lingering showers and thunderstorms will diminish
during the evening, allowing skies to become mostly clear by
midnight. Although easterly winds through the mountain areas of
Western and Southwest Montana will remain breezy through the
evening, winds will otherwise become light. This will allow
temperatures to fall mostly into the 30s and 40s, with 20s likely in
the mountains, which will cause patchy frost to form, mainly in the
west.
