.DISCUSSION...

Temperatures rise into the upper 50s to lower 60s this afternoon.
As winds turn westerly in the afternoon, relative humidity values
will fall between 20 and 30 percent in most locations. While 
winds are likely to stay below critical thresholds, occasional 20 
mph gusts may be possible in the middle to late afternoon.

A cold front drops southward after 7pm this evening, reaching 
Highway 14 by 7pm, Interstate 90 by 10pm, and Highway 20 by 3am 
Monday. Behind the front gusty northerly winds will develop with 
gusts upwards of 30 mph. 

Temperatures cool into the 40s on Monday with a light north wind.

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the moderate 
category this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or 
lowering moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic 
material on the ground, indicate that there is some potential 
for a fire to spread. Any outdoor burning should be closely 
monitored.

OUTLOOK FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the moderate category. 

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category 
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture 
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the 
ground, indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is 
low. Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be 
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.
