The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The island of Oahu in Honolulu County

* Until 1215 AM HST.

* At 1107 PM HST, radar indicated moderate to heavy showers 
  continuing over portions of the windward side, with peak rainfall 
  rates down to 1 to 2 inches per hour from Punaluu to Waikane. This 
  rainfall over already saturated grounds and elevated streams will 
  keep the threat of flash flooding up through midnight.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
           properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
           closures possible in some areas. Landslides are
           possible in steep terrain.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Honolulu, Waiahole, Waikane, Kahaluu, Ahuimanu, Kaaawa, Aiea, 
  Punaluu, Pearl City, Halawa, Kaneohe, Moanalua, Mililani, Salt 
  Lake, Kaneohe Marine Base, Hauula, Kalihi, Wahiawa, Maunawili and 
  Kailua.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even 
if they are currently dry.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

This warning may need to be extended beyond 1215 AM HST if flooding 
persists.
