Depending on ice behavior, any release of the ice jam could result in sudden rises of water, leading to a rapid flooding situation. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1005 PM EDT, Local Fire Services and Emergency management reported ice jams along the Carrabassett River that are leading to unexpected water rises. The main concerns are for low lying portions of Embden to Anson where ice jams have been reported. The flood threat will continue into the overnight hours as streamflows will continue to rise from earlier rain and snowmelt. - Avoid flooded roads - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Madison, Anson, Embden and New Portland. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
