At 1043 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated rain had ended across the warned county. Locally excessive runoff will continue to be seen within the upper French Broad basin into the afternoon. The Rosman French Broad River gage was at the flood level of 9 feet as of 1030 am. River levels around Rosman will continue to fall today, as well as the Davidson River, which is well on it's way to returning to within it's banks. French Broad River levels around Brevard and downstream will still be rising and flooding low-lying areas. Flooding closer to 276 on the Little River will work it's way downstream to the French Broad confluence by this afternoon. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by excessive runoff SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Heavy rain has increased the risk of landslides, especially in areas where slides have occurred in the past. Be especially alert if you are near a stream, especially at the base of a mountain or in a cove. Watch for loose-moving soil and rocks or a sudden increase in streamflow. Leave the area quickly if this is observed. When driving along roads where the terrain is steep or rocky, watch and listen for falling rocks, mud, trees, and other debris. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. && LAT...LON 3512 8266 3513 8268 3510 8270 3509 8273 3507 8276 3507 8278 3509 8278 3511 8284 3515 8292 3517 8298 3519 8299 3521 8292 3529 8283 3539 8275 3529 8261 3526 8262 3514 8258 3514 8261 3513 8263 3513 8264 FLASH FLOOD...RADAR AND GAUGE INDICATED $$ CSH
