TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING CANCELLATION.

Location: 22.6S 178.9W or about 215km South of Ono-i-Lau.
Status: Tropical Cyclone [CAT 2].
Maximum Winds: 60 knots [110km/hr], gusting to 85 knots [155km/hr]
near the center. 
Central Pressure: 980 hPa. 
Movement: South at about 23km/hr away from Fiji group.

Time of observation or analysis: 1200pm Fiji Standard Time [FST].

FORECAST POSITION: 

 * 12hr or 09:00pm on Tuesday : 24.8S 177.4W or 480km South-southeast
of Ono-i-Lau.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR YASAWA, LAU AND LOMAIVITI
GROUP, KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS. 

A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR WHOLE OF FIJI GROUP.

SITUATION: TROPICAL CYCLONE RAE [CATEGORY 2] CENTER LIES TO THE SOUTH
OF FIJI WATERS IS MOVING AWAY FROM THE GROUP. STRONG TO GALE FORCE
WINDS CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE SOUTHERN LAU GROUP. MEANWHILE, AN ACTIVE
CONVERGENCE ZONE WITH ASSOCIATED STRONG TO GALE FORCE WINDS AFFECTS
THE EASTERN PARTS OF THE GROUP.

FORECAST:

For the Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and nearby smaller
islands:
Fresh to strong northwesterly winds with wind speeds up to 55km/hr
and gusts up to 80km/hr.
Occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Rain clearing from tomorrow.

Occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Rain clearing from tomorrow.
Moderate to fresh northwest winds, gusty at times. 
Rough seas.


POSSIBLE IMPACTS DUE TO HEAVY RAIN:
- Localised flooding of susceptible communities, business and low
lying areas.
- Localised flooding of minor roads, iris crossing and bridges with
some disruption to traffic flow.
- Severe flooding of major rivers which could flood towns and
properties.
- Poor visibility for motorists and mariners.
