The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA...
  Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 628 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 9 nm south of Fairview Beach to 14 nm southwest of
  Colonial Beach to 18 nm southwest of Westmoreland State Park,
  moving northeast at 20 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly 
           higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could 
           suffer significant damage in high winds.

* Locations impacted include...
  Tall Timbers, Breton Bay, Cobb Island, Coltons Point, Swan Point,
  Saint Clements Bay, Nomini Bay, Coles Point, Piney Point,
  Westmoreland State Park, Wicomico River, and White Point Beach.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
