Dry conditions and gusty winds will overspread the region today. Little to no rainfall was observed yesterday to the north and west of I-95, and conditions have been dry over this region during the past week. The combination of these relatively dry antecedent conditions, relative humidity falling to around 20-25 percent, and sustained westerly winds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts to around 20-25 mph will result in an elevated threat for the rapid spread of fires through 7 PM this evening. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly grow out of control under these conditions. $$
