...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of central Buchanan
County through 800 PM CDT...

At 722 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Jesup, or near Independence, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and minor flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow 
         around unsecured objects. Slowing or redirecting of traffic 
         due to ponding or flowing water. Closure of waterfront 
         access due to flooding.

Locations impacted include...
Independence, Jesup, Winthrop, Quasqueton, Rowley, Buchanan County
Fairgrounds, Otterville, Wapsipinicon Golf Course, Independence
Airport, and Littleton.

Those attending the 4th of July Celebration in Independence are in 
the path of this storm and should prepare for IMMINENT DANGEROUS 
WEATHER CONDITIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Stay away from
flooded areas. Report any flooding to local law enforcement.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
