Patchy shallow fog is developing across portions of northwest Illinois into far east central and northeast Iowa. The fog will be locally dense with visibility reduced down to a quarter mile in some locations such as river valleys and other low lying locations. Visibility will improve by 8 AM as the sun rises helping the fog to dissipate. If traveling early this morning, be prepared for rapid changes in visibilities over very short distances, make sure to slow down, and keep plenty of stopping distance between yourself and other vehicles. $$ 12
