THE BAPTIST, SOUTHEASTERN LIVINGSTON AND SOUTHERN TANGIPAHOA PARISHES

...

At 120 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles south of Ponchatoula, or 12 miles south of Hammond, moving east
at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Hammond, Ponchatoula, Springfield, Robert, Killian, and W Lk
Pontchartrain Buoy.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 12 between mile markers 37 and 53.
 Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 5 and 30.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
