...A THUNDERSTORM WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN
CALDWELL COUNTY UNTIL 330 PM EDT...

At 307 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with
torrential rainfall 9 miles northwest of Lenoir, or 8 miles northwest
of Gamewell. This storm was nearly stationary.

Locations to be impacted include...
Lenoir, Gamewell, Globe, Collettsville, Patterson, Upton, and
Edgemont.

Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible 
in these areas. The upper reaches of the Johns River and Mulberry 
Creek may see rapid rises before the storm dissipates.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
