...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL FAIRFIELD...
NORTHWESTERN NEW HAVEN AND EASTERN PUTNAM COUNTIES THROUGH 500 PM
EDT...

At 408 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
New Fairfield, or near Danbury, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is 
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Waterbury, Danbury, Southbury, Wolcott, Sherman, Newtown, Ridgefield,
Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Middlebury, and Putnam Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 

Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning 
can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter 
inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
southern Connecticut...and southeastern New York.
