  Southeastern Cayuga County in central New York...
  West central Cortland County in central New York...
  Northeastern Tompkins County in central New York...

* Until 930 PM EDT.

* At 822 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Venice
  Center, or 15 miles south of Auburn, moving southeast at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cortland, Homer, Groton, Locke, Genoa, Dryden, Moravia, Freeville,
  South Cortland, and Venice Center.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in Binghamton.
